The Astrological Significance of Ragnarok and Norse Creation Myths

A couple weeks ago I was working on V.K. Jehannum’s Rite of Initiation through Muspelheim and I started to get some interesting information downloads (presumably from Surtr and/or the spirits of Muspelheim) The gist of these was that  there are correlations between the Book of Revelations and “Ragnarok”. This makes actual since, because Surtr (whom the rite calls upon) was supposed to play a part in Ragnarok and the “end of the world”. I’ve been meaning to write an article “unraveling” the information but I haven’t gotten around to it so far. Today while my daughter and I were working on homeschool, we were reading the Norse creation myth, I noticed parallels between it and some biblical stories (in addition to myths from other cultures.)

It is my understanding that the bible is (much like mythology) an allegory for astrological events. Each aeon or age has a zodiacal sign attached to it, proceeding in reverse (depending on which house the sun is in.) The Old Testament of the bible representing the age of Aries (from 2150 B.C. – 1 A.D.), the symbol of which being the golden bull (false idol) worshipped by the Israelites. The New Testament representing the Age of Pisces from 1 A.D. – 2150 A.D and is represented by the Zodiac sign of the two fish. (The fish symbolism in Christianity is rampant. I remember from Sunday school that Jesus was said to be a “fisher of men”. (Eep.) This transition of the age into the Aquarian age is alluded to in Luke 22:10, which states: “Behold when ye are entered into the city there shall a man meet you bearing a pitcher of water. Follow him into the house, where he enter therein.” The zodiacal sign of Aquarius is a man with a pitcher of water. (The Star Tarot?) Obviously, this is alluding to the sun entering the house of Aquarius.

In Matthew 28:20 of the King James Bible, Jesus (the “sun” or son of God) says “I will be with you even to the end of the world.” Apparently in King James Bible, this is a mistranslation and the word world is meant to mean “age”. I’ve been told by my own spirits that there are many words were deliberately altered, but to remain objective we can say that there are a number of mistranslations. So, Jesus (the sun) will be there until the end of the age, at which point it will be in the age of Aquarius. [1]

My spirits elaborated on this explaining that the Bible was only applicable to the end of this age/aeon and that, a brand new one has begun. A new story/religion needs to be written for this new age. I’m under the impression that this new age beginning is already happening, although texts say that this it is not allegedly supposed to happen officially until the year 2150 A.D. I thought this was a little strange, but it has recently come to my attention that there’s supposed to be a 13th Zodiac sign due to the Earth’s axis “wobbling” and the position of the sun/pole star changing. Which could account for some missing years.

Some people dispute this saying that astrology is based on the sun instead of these pole stars. … But if you look at the way the allusion in the bible is worded: ‘the sun entering the house of Aquarius”, it seems to imply that they were viewing things from the perspective that it was the SUN entering different ages. Our ancestors were under the impression that the sun/planets revolved around the Earth until recently, when we found that it is the planets that orbit around the sun and that the sun is actually stationary. (For the most part.) This discovery should have changed our conception of Astrology. The position of the sun for this reason technically did “move”, and if not then then especially when taking into consideration the Earth’s axis has “wobbled”.

So, adding this 13th sign then, could possibly mean that we might have approached the new age sooner. This both makes sense of the information I’ve channeled and would be awfully convenient for the powers that be. According to Naos, the energies at the end of an aeon/age distort the entire next aeon/age. [2] If everyone knows about the new “age” much later than it actually started, it would be advantageous for those currently in power to have 150+ (however many) years to distort the energies of the next aeon in an effort to maintain control. This is also consistent with what I channeled: that this information is deliberately being withheld from the public so that Judeo-Christianity can be maintain control and bend the energies of the new aeon in their favor.

I’m digressing, a lot. My point though is that: there isn’t an end of the world, (at least not indicated biblically) just the ending of an old age and the beginning of a new one. As I’d mentioned earlier, an information download that I’d gotten (from I believe Surtr) indicates that there are parallels between  the Book of Revelations and Ragnarok in Norse Mythology). Being that these ages follow the procession of the equinoxes (reverse chronologically) Ragnarok could possibly even apply to  the ending of an age that has already past.

Applying this same concept to the myth of  Ragnarok, it seems that this might also be the case here. Odin is to fight Fenrir, the wolf and Tyr will fight the Jormungand, the Midgard Serpent. In some versions, Surtr will kill Odin. There are so many damn versions of this story that it’s hard to tell what’s what. As far as we can tell, there are no wolves or serpents in the tropical Zodiac. HOWEVER: Opiochus, the 13th zodiac of sidereal astrology IS the serpent bearer, represented by man wrestling a snake. Opiochus Makes up the dates between November 29th and December 18th. So, a Jormungand is accounted for. But what about Fenrir and the wolves? Celtic astrology,  (which I didn’t even know was a thing until right now) ALSO has 13 signs and, the Wolf Zodiac symbol Sign is October 28-November 24th, JUST BEFORE Opiochus. Celtic Astrology is not Norse Astrology of course, but we do know that the  Saxons (Vikings) arrived in England/Ireland around the 5th century A.D. (Placing them around the  late age of Taurus & early Aries) it’s very possible they shared similar astrological systems. The dates  ARE a couple days apart, but a rational explanation for this is that the Norse calendar was divided up into runic half months and aren’t/weren’t always static.

This also makes sense of the Norse creation myth and the other calf/cow based creation myths in a variety of cultures: Taurus being the bull. A calf would be an “young” bull. It’s possible that the creation myth wasn’t necessarily a “creation” myth, but a myth about the beginning of the age of Taurus in which these cultures existed. This makes sense because, there is inconsistent information about which god/giant actually created the other gods/giants and the first human/s.

In summary, it’s very likely that the myth of Ragnarok is similar to the book of Revelations in that it wasn’t meant to signify the end of the world, but an end of one astrological age and entering of another. I’m sure this is really just the tip of the iceberg as far as similarities go, but I’m going to have to finish unraveling that information in a separate blog post since I’ve spent like, 5 hours writing this one post.

Reiki for Trauma

This video is to send healing energy to yourself during a traumatic event in the past. (Because time isn’t linear 😉 I intended on it being a specific event but can probably be useful for all forms of trauma. Trauma can cause a number of energetic problems including blockages, tears, and holes in the aura, etc. which can later manifest as physical illness. Physical illness will manifest in the subtle bodies before the physical body. There is a strong connection between trauma and physical illness. According to WebMD, Trauma survivors are three times more likely to be diagnosed later with IBS, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. It can also contribute to chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune disorders.

Psychic Senses & Abilities

This article (or series of articles) I am actually writing for someone, but I thought it would be useful for other people to read as well so I’m posing it on my blog as well. 🙂

There are a lot of misconceptions about the psychic abilities and psychic senses in general. A common misconception is that only certain people are “born” with psychic abilities. What many people don’t realize, however, is that psychic abilities are something that EVERYONE is born with and can be taught to utilize. Children are much more able to tap into their psychic abilities, as society hasn’t conditioned them into believing that “hearing” or “seeing” things are crazy, “weird’ or inappropriate. Eventually, as they go through life and are discouraged from using our “imaginations”, they stop being able to use them. This isn’t to say that our imaginations are always real, but there are many things that are written of as our “imagination” that are genuine psychic phenomena. Intuition for instance: if you’ve ever had a feeling that something bad was going to happen and something bad *did* end up happening, this might have happened outside of your conscious awareness *or* may have been written off as your imagination and ignored.

Obligatory Disclaimer

This isn’t to say that seeing and hearing things is necessarily “normal”, as there are times when it is, in fact, indicative of mental illness. I am not a psychologist and tell you the exact differentiation between the two. That distinction needs a mental health professional and their opinion depends on said professional’s receptiveness to the idea of psychic abilities. Let’s face it: not many do. I have been fortunate enough to discuss my own experiences with a mental health professional who was also interested in the metaphysical and spiritual end of things, who found nothing peculiar about what I’d told her and was in fact even able to help me cultivate my abilities through giving me more information about the information I had channeled. My suggestion to people who are concerned about their sanity is to seek out a professional who is knowledgeable in both the spiritual end of things as much as they are the psychological end of things, in order to avoid being misdiagnosed and overmedicated for what might be a genuine gift. (Such was the case with me.)

How Psychic Information is Processed

With that being said, I can explain things better from a metaphysical perspective. Psychic information is received and processed through the chakras and interpreted by the brain. The best-known chakra for this is the third eye chakra, which is the chakra that deals with clairvoyance (clear seeing, things you can see with your third eye, not through your physical eyesight as much.) Your crown chakra is the chakra that receives claircognizant (clear knowing) information. Your throat chakra, which deals with communication, governs spiritual communication as much as it does verbal communication and plays a role in clairaudience. (Clear hearing) The actual chakras that are responsible for clairaudience (psychic/astral hearing) are your inner ear chakras. (Which, if I’m not mistaken are kind of an offshoot of your throat chakra) When you hear spiritual things it usually comes from these inner ear chakras rather than something you hear “externally” although sometimes these can be confused. Your solar plexus is involved in clairsentience (clear feeling) and intuition. When you have a “hunch”, “gut feeling” or an intuitive, yucky feeling about someone or something, you’ll most likely feel it in your solar plexus/navel chakras. Believe it or not, your hand chakras (and fingertip chakras) are involved in a psychic sense known as clairtangency: receiving psychic information from touching an object. (This happened to me once at a food pantry, where I touched a table that was in the room and got a flash/image of a hospital/surgical room and immediately got really creeped out. The table was definitely used I think to hold surgical instruments in a hospital. I’ve been able to pick up impressions from an old book and correctly guess where the book came from, etc.) These aren’t clear cut guidelines, as there are many chakras that play a role in processing psychic information (not to mention your aura) but, these I think are the main chakras.

Common Psychic Senses

Now, to elaborate on the different types of psychic senses. Many people associate “psychics” with clairvoyance. Although many psychics are clairvoyant, the truth is that there are more psychic senses than just clairvoyance. Many people have a predominant psychic sense supported by one or a couple other of these. Sometimes their predominant psychic sense can change. In my experience, people that are artistic or visual learners will receive mostly clairvoyant information. People who love music or are auditory learners are more likely to be predominantly clairaudient. Empaths a lot of times will use clairsentience without even realizing it. etc. It’s been my experience that, spirits who are (were) musically inclined will be most likely to communicate through music, or if they were artistically gifted might choose to convey images. Spirits who were really intelligent of logic/information based in their life might come in claircognizant. (Cool story on that later.) I’ve read that spirits will use information, songs, etc. from your memory bank to convey the message that they’re trying to get across, in a way you understand it. … I’m not even sure it’s that necessarily, it seems like maybe this is your energy body’s way of making sense of the information that it’s receiving. But, sometimes the information that they want to convey isn’t something you have a framework for understanding at that moment. I’m super claircognizant so I find that that’s when I get referred out to books or sources by a spirit that does contain more about the information they’re trying to convey and helps me verify the message that I’m getting from them: which gets elaborated on in the book I’m referred to. (Anyone who is talking to me when I’m nerding out about research can attest to this: me getting a theory and then finding/verifying that exact info in a book shortly after.)

Not all psychics necessarily speak with the dead, either: the psychics who do that are mediums, although the two are often used synonymously. Mediums are psychics (that’s how they receive their information!) but not all psychics are mediums. Anyway (digressing again) Here are the main (and some extra) psychic senses.

Clairvoyance: (Clear sight) is your psychic/astral vision. This for me is usually a flash of an image in your third eye chakra area (between your eyebrows). The image can be literal or symbolic. Some people see auras, spirits, etc. this way. You might see a word, a color, name etc.

Clairaudience: (Clear hearing) is your psychic hearing. Sometimes it can be very overt: as in, hearing the spirit in its own voice in your head. If you’re receiving an urgent warning, the louder and more overt it can be. But usually, (in my experience) it’s more subtle. Sometimes the information you get from spirit/s or your higher self is heard as your own thoughts which make this a really tricky sense to pick up on. If you find your internal dialogue referring to you as “you” instead of “I” or with different pronouns (as though someone else was talking to you in your voice) this can also be clairaudience. This happens to me a lot when I’m channeling things via automatic writing: I receive the information in my own voice but it’s not information that I knew prior to receiving it. I do like to verify everything I get to make sure it’s right (and that I’m not crazy.) I usually am, but I can misconstrue parts of messages from time to time. Lastly, clairaudience can actually come in the form of music, songs or quotes that seem to get stuck out of nowhere. Not every song that gets stuck in your head will be a clairaudient message, though. (More on this later.)

Clairsentience: (clear feeling) This is probably one of the most common psychic senses. As I mentioned before. This is especially common in empaths who often feel the emotions of other people around them. You might feel emotions that aren’t yours (if you’re around someone who is angry, you become quite angry yourself) or you might feel the pain that isn’t yours. i.e. if you’re communicating with a spirit that had back problems you might also feel back pain or sensations in your back. You know, on Ghost Adventures where one of the guys is all like “bro I feel like I got stabbed in the stomach” or something, it might not necessarily be intentional on the part of the spirit as much as it might be the cast picking up on the spirits’ pain through their own clairsentience. For me personally, when doing reiki I can feel which areas need attention on the other person by feeling them in my own body. I once removed an entity attached to someone and as I removed it I could feel in my own body, something physically being pulled out of my back, neck and head. (That only took up like, three chakras?!) (That was horrifying) My jaw might hurt or tingle or I might be pulled to “hot” or dense feeling areas where the client might be experiencing pain. I think this might also include generally sensing energy, which can entail tingling or buzzing feelings.

  • Claircognizance: This is the psychic sense of “knowing” which I think is one of the most underrated psychic senses. This is psychic information that you just simply know. For me, I notice this as a certain thought, idea or information popping into my head that has a certain “insight” like quality that feels like a lightbulb went off. Sometimes inspiration or ideas can happen in this way. It’s just a simple “knowing” for a fact that the information is true. I make this probably harder than it needs to be by treating everything I receive as a hypothesis that I need to test by doing research, but it does come through with strong sense of “knowing” that doesn’t feel like it needs verification. Not everything that pops into your head that you feel certain about is information received via claircognizance, I have to reiterate that there’s a “ligthbulb” like quality to the information.

I’ve mistaken plenty of things for claircognizant information that kind of comes through trial and error. Like, “information” that sounds like “I know Brenda is going to be a B at the company Christmas party this year.” or “I know I’m going to fail this test” “I just know my bf is out smoking meth/cheating/etc.” is probably totally not claircognizant information, it’s definitely information that’s stemming from your own personal fears or anxieties. I don’t doubt that this kind of information can come through once in awhile, or come through in the form of intuition, but it’s a bad idea to simply act as though it were true just because it feels true. Don’t attack Brenda at the company Christmas party pls. Disclaimer: I am not liable if you attack Brenda at the company Christmas party. If something *IS* genuinely claircognizant information, it should be able to pass reality testing. *TRUE* information tends to shed light on other topics and makes them more clear. False information often muddies it or makes things confusing or leaves you stuck.

Lesser-Known Psychic Senses

Those are the four main senses and seem to go along with the physical senses. Believe it or not, there are other more obscure psychic sciences that go along with the physical senses: I mentioned clairtangency earlier which is gathering information about an object or place through touch. Clairolfaction is the sense of psychic of smell; spirits can be accompanied by scents: fresh flowers, perfume, tobacco, (which you might associate with the spirit you’re sensing) also, rotting meat, sulfur, death, etc. are other ones on the darker side of things. I read something about dogs being able to detect cancer via the sense of smell: they are likely using the sense of psychic smell for this. People have this ability too and are sometimes able to smell when someone is sick or near death. Clairgustance is psychic “tasting”. Some people notice a coppery or metallic taste, the taste of blood (spirits that died violently) or other tastes. (Actually, I think I might have experienced this the other day, only it seemed like the taste you get when you’re sick only I wasn’t sick.) There are plenty of others that I won’t cover here.

Examples from Famous People & Creative Works

It’s important to note too that many amazing poets, musicians, composers, artists, writers, inventors, etc. have all likely experienced this whether they realized it or not. Nicola Tesla I believe was in fact one of those people: receiving information about technology through psychic senses. Many authors who write science fiction or fantasy novels that seem to describe real life concepts or ideas might have been inspired by receiving in formation in this way. I think H.P. Lovecraft was one in particular, possibly JR Tolkien and others. This explains why the Simpsons eerily seem to predict events many years later. Musicians sometimes intuitively know they’re going to die on a subconscious level and work hard to put out some of their best work: sometimes predicting their death in advance, or write songs that seem to imply that they know they’re leaving and are saying good bye. Grimes did say that at one point she felt as though she was channeling spirits through her music. Conor Oberst’s music also has a lot of spiritual themes and has an album even named “Clairaudients”. I think these instances miraculously show information about the musician’s creative process. Many composers of classical music seem to have been divinely guided as well: Beehthoven was deaf but still composed some of the world’s best known symphonies, claiming that he did hear them in his head. Here, he was hearing music using his inner ear chakras. Richard Wagner described inspiration once as “currents of divine thought” that vibrate through the ether and are heard by those who feel inspired. There are countless other fascinating examples of this. I really love looking at creative work of individuals and examining this. (Particularly ones who’ve passed posthumously) No wonder many “bards”, rishis and poets of the past were also thought to be seers.

In Conclusion

Anyway, I think I’ve wasted enough time on this article that I didn’t even really get around to what I actually wanted to talk about: which was actually utilizing these senses. Using psychic abilities is actually a two-step process: half is knowing you’re receiving the information, the other half is decoding the information. (Usually, the meaning isn’t overt or immediately clear and requires additional interpreting.) I’ll cover that in one of my next posts, though. I hope this was helpful!

Reiki for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD)

This is an experimental reiki video that I thought of when I was in psychology class. Its meant to act in the brain in the same way that Adderall or other stimulants that are commonly prescribed for it might do. I wasn’t sure if that’s even possible, but I can guarantee you reiki energy is being sent to the parts of your brain that are implicated in AD/HD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I don’t know if it feels like Adderall per se but it was pretty effective for helping me with plenty of studying in college and the effects even seemed to last for a couple days rather than needing to constantly play “reiki for concentration” videos. If your child struggles with ADHD or ADD, it might help to play this while they’re doing homework!

Runic Runic: Wunjo for Joy, Accomplishment, Success

This distance reiki video is for joy, success, and accomplishment using the energy of the Wunjo rune. You can play this before job interviews, business endeavors, important meetings, dates or in any other event that you’d like to be successful. It might also help if you’re feeling down and depressed. I’m also pulling junk from the second and third chakra. It works on energetic blockages that might interfere with success.

I opted to not talk at the beginning of this video and cut straight to the reiki because sometimes it’s annoying when you’re listening to a reiki video playlist and then get interrupted with intermittent talking that startles you out of relaxation mode. (hah)

I wanted to do a different reiki video today but I’m starting to use tarot cards to choose which one would be most helpful at the moment. Apparently, some of you guys need the energy of Wunjo, lol.

Runic Reiki for Financial Abundance

I’ve been working on developing a system of energy healing that uses runes to direct life force energy. (Vril, reiki, prana or whichever term you prefer to use.) One of the awesome things I’ve discovered so far is using life force energy with runes to send the energy of that rune to yourself or someone else, which seems almost like an effective form of rune magick in and of itself. This technique I use to help with financial abundance using the Fehu rune. I also work on the root and lower chakras and try to clear energetic blockages that might be interfering with your finances and also relieve poverty consciousness. You probably won’t get rich off of it, but I’ve consistently gotten between $20-250 almost every time that I use this technique, or get slammed with sales in my shop. The results depend on which ways you have for money to flow to you. Let me know what you’re experiences are in the comments, really excited to see if it works for other people as was as it does me!

Distance Reiki Session for Breakups & Heartache

This is a brief distance reiki healing session to help people who are going through break ups, experiencing heart ache or just having some heart chakra achey-ness. I work on the heart chakra along with a few other ones. I do also cut any unhelpful energetic cords in this video to facilitate healing during breakups. Sometimes when we’re really emotionally involved with people, or someone has a deficiency in a certain chakra, they might “cord” one of your chakras (unknowingly. … At least 99% of the time) to make up for that energy deficiency. i.e. If someone has a deficiency in the throat chakra, they might gravitate toward people who have strong throat chakras and unintentionally cord that chakra. People who struggle with their sense of personal power (governed by the solar plexus chakra) might cord the solar plexus of another person who DOES have a strong sense of personal power, etc. If you catch yourself thinking about someone long after a relationship and ended, and you don’t still have feelings for them whatsoever, they might have energetic cords attached to you that are interfering with your ability to move on from the relationship.

This was recorded with my phone, so the audio and video quality might be just slightly better than my last videos. … I know. I promise to invest in some more high tech equipment when I can afford to. :’) I’m also using another technique that I developed using a crystals and a diagram, which can make the healing energy stronger. (woo!)

P.S. Completely aware that the thumbnail looks derpy but I’m also new to the YouTube thing and am not quite sure how to make those cool thumbnail images. XD

My (Involuntary) Shamanic Initiation

If you’ve read my bio, you might already know that I once considered myself “Germanic Heathen”. This came as a result of some very intense visions that I had. By visions I mean, I was fasting and had reduced sleep for at least a week or two, and had been listening to some music which had a lot of drumming in it, on repeat for a couple days in a row. Because I’m one of those weirdos that finds good music and then plays the hell out of them until they get boring. It’s known that shamans enter altered states of consciousness, namely the shamanic state of consciousness, by reducing food, sleep and drumming at a certain beats per minute. [1] Of course I was not aware of that, and accidentally entered a shamanic state of consciousness, completely not aware of what was going on.

The Shamanic State of Consciousness & DMT

In a shamanic state of consciousness, DMT is released naturally by the pineal gland in your brain. Your pineal gland is connected to the third eye chakra and contains the same tissue (cones and rods) that the retina in your eye does: tissue that is responsible for that actually producing the images we see: the light, depth and colors, that are then sent through the optic nerve and thus to your brain which interprets the image. Your pineal gland because of this is photoreceptive. (Absorbs light for a particular function.) This is why when you open your third eye, people start seeing visions or things that others don’t. The gland that is responsible for these visions are the same cells, connecting to the same organ/s that our physical vision does. What is seen with the eyes is *interpreted* by the brain which produces the image, not necessarily the eyes themselves. (This is why two people viewing the same crime can see two radically different persepctives.) What we see with the eyes isn’t necessarily how what is in front of us looks, but depends on how our brain is interpreting what is in front of us. (Digressing…) The eyes give us physical vision, the pineal gland, when active, gives us vision of the “unseen”, “hidden” metaphysical world that many believe do not exist. Of course, many of us can’t (or don’t) use our pineal gland and are walking around blind to a pretty huge layer of reality.

Now, backtracking to DMT: this is most commonly heard about in reference to drugs. Although it does exist as a drug, it is a naturally occurring substance in your body. It is, supposedly, only released when you’re born, when you’re dreaming and when you die. Many people don’t know that is naturally released when someone is in a shamanic state of consciousness. (or apparently if you take a lot of recreational drugs, there are man-made versions of it…) Natural DMT is (surprise surprise) found in the pineal glands of mice. (it’s safe to say it is there for us too.) This provides a more scientific explanation for the visions seen during a shamanic state of consciousness.

What happened?

I began to see visuals along with simultaneous claircognizant/clairaudient information. (My third eye and crown chakras were blasted open, obvs). I saw a muscular hand push my face into a well of water; I became aware that I was falling through this well. I saw hundreds of bubbles, each with information facts, events. You could say water “droplets” of information, even. I was seeing the droplets and simultaneously knowing what the information in the droplets was, and I gained new information with each one. I went through most recent times back to WW2, WW1, Victorian times, medieval times, pre-christian pagan times, back to the beginning of time on this planet, and even beyond. I found myself in space, hearing information clairaudiently from some beings that were with me. I went even further beyond space to pre-existence of everything: a void, or abyss. At this point everything went black and I saw red glowing symbols which I thought looked like runes, but looked a bit more complex. (I’d never thought about the runes or vikings since high school prior to this, so that ws new to me.) It seemed that I was specifically able to access information through my own bloodline and ancestors, from any time period no matter how distant. Information I received as I moved through the well was moving very, very rapidly- so rapidly that I couldn’t write it all down and had to sit and observe. I felt as though I could access any information at all if I wished. It seemed similar to what some call the Akashic Records. I was given a lot spiritual truths and information about the universe, life on earth, existence, etc. That I will cover in other posts: the information is way, way, WAYYYY too vast to articulate in one small post. It was so much information that… Someone might go permanently insane if they’d have access to all of that information at once for a prolonged period of time: so I was able to absorb some broad concepts to describe spiritual truths. (?) If you want to call them that.

wtf?

I know. Just so we can eliminate the obvious causes here: I didn’t and have not ever done psychadelic drugs, DMT, acid, mushrooms or anything like that. Defs not an acid flashback or something like that. I don’t even smoke pot. Also: I am frequently depressed and sucidal, but schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders are not one of the things in my family history or in my personal history. (Being a former self-injurer, trust me when I say that they’ve totally had ample time to make that diagnosis.)

It’s not schizophrenia if you can coherently explain it!

I’m sure that isn’t true for all sorts of reasons. (hah) I did seriously doubt my sanity, for awhile. But, if it *were* insanity, why would the truths I’d learned about the universe enlighten me more about it? And help me describe big concepts to other people? Why does the information I learned work as a useful framework for operating in the world? If I was insane, wouldn’t this not make sense to anyone else? Wouldn’t it render me LESS functional in the world? … I mean in some ways it did: I know things I won’t ever be able to communicate with another human and be understood, so I feel incredibly isolated. I’m often misunderstood. But the deep understanding of the universe that I gained really allowed me to understand it in such a clear way that I got very good at predicting information, seeing truth and lies, etc. So after it happened, I became obsessed with figuring out what had happened.

I couldn’t explain why, but I was incredibly drawn to maps of the nine worlds in norse mythology after this. It was a map to what I saw and learned almost. There’s so much information that can be gleaned from merely studying it. I started studying Norse mythology and folklore to better understand the allegories within it. Not many people realize that they’re not just stories: they’re allegories for certain things in the universe.

What I experienced was similar to accessing the Akashic Records, at least in principle. Interestingly, the Norns of Norse mythology *are* responsible for keeping/recording of the records of all time by carving runes into the Yggdrasil (world tree), catalogue anything and everything that has ever happened. The norns were said to water the Yggdrasil (or world tree) each morning with water from the Well of Wisdom, or Mimir’s well. (Mimir being a giant to whom this well belonged.) Every time anyone takes an action, it places a drop in this well: as with the rest of your family, “tribe” and race. Thus, the well of wisdom contains layers of information throughout time (Urd) all the way to the beginning of time itself. This well was also the well that Odin had sacrificed his “eye” to in order to attain wisdom. From the Abyss, Odin pulled out the runes.

After reading the mythology and lore, I realized that what I’d experienced could be explained through allegories found in the stories of Norse mythology! Carl Jung did believe that Odin and the other gods were archetypes latent within our subconscious mind. As I studied the Greek system of Hebdomadry (which the Qabalah was actually based on.) I came to understand these norse worlds could also be understood as spheres and the pathways that are latent within the subconscious mind. The Order of Nine Angles uses the “Tree of Wyrd” to depict these. The spheres can also be understood as chakras in the body, along the spinal column which is represented by the Yggdrasil (world tree). The difference between the system of Qabalah and Hebdomadry (to my understanding) is that the Qabalah views the light and dark as separate trees, whereas Hebdomadry considers them the same “tree”. I’m digressing though.

What happened to me was *eerily* similar to how Odin found the runes. My “third eye” (not a physical eye) went down the well of wisdom (sacrificing a degree of physical sight) down through the layers of Urd, back to the beginning of time to an “Abyss” (Ginnungagap) where I saw many secrets about the universe that were too vast to be described except but in symbols, and these symbols were what I saw in red. What Odin pulled back from it was: runes, which are describing forces of the universe. I don’t think these myths are just stories, but allegories, and should be reinterpreted and not taken literally. For example, I don’t beleive Odin only had one eye: the “eye” he gave to peer into the Mimir’s Well, the Well of Wisdom, was his third eye. I’ll cover more of these in future articles.

Genuine Shamans vs. Voluntary Shamans

I’m well aware that sounds completely insane. To meet diagnostic criteria for mental illness, though, the visions/hallucinations that one experiences need to be outside of the norm of the culture in which the individual lives. For example, visions experienced by Native Americans don’t neccessarily indicate mental illness as long as said visions are considered the norm among their religion. As I said, shamanic initiations ARE a biochemical process that takes place almost sporadically and is usually genetic. Unfortunately for white people, since many people are not aware that European pagan religions pre-Christianity actually HAD shamans and because Chrisianity has taught us that these topics (communicating with spirits, the dead, the metaphysical world, world in Norse Mythology etc…) aren’t acceptable or even real, many many MANY white people who are going through a shamanic initiation/shamanic crisis are falsely labeled as “psychotic”. Most of modern society simply doesn’t have a framework of knowledge for understanding these episodes, as we are so far removed from our ancestors and native spiritual roots. “Hallucinations” that can be explained through religious contexts, (even ones that are latent in our subconscious mind) do not meet diagnostic criteria for “psychosis”. I’m sure there are professionals that would disgree with me there, but I believe this is a HUGE blind spot in modern psychology.

I will link a great article in the footnotes below that elaborate on the topic of shamanic initiations. I agree with it wholeheartedly: the popular new agey idea that shamans can be “made” through classes and workshops is hog wash. Shamans are not “initiated” in the way that Wiccans, or other magickal traditions are. No one else can “make” you a shaman. A geneuine shaman is made through a spontaneous biochemical process that is sparked within an individual, often causing often times, “hallucinations”, or visions. This biochemical process is genetic: people who are shamans have had ancestors (maybe quite distant) that were also shamans. Genuine shamans are born, they cannot be made.

I’ll make other distinctions between real shamans and the voluntary shamans later. But, for a genuine shaman, this path is not an option. The spirits (or wights, in the case of European shamans) are forever “training” you specifically for the job, and they do not let you quit. Although the above story sounds like a great “trip” or kind of a trippy experience, the reality is that, you’re lucky to make it back with your brain and body still intact. Because of traveling so far back in time where modern language, concepts and schemas didn’t apply, when I came back to everyday consciousness (gradually over the course of months) I had trouble finding the proper words for things. If someone asked me to pour a glass of milk and set it on the table, I’d have to try and consciously formulate what it means for a table to be a table, what it means for milk to be milk, etc. Shamans going through shamanic crises almost always experience physical illness that brings them to the brink of death. Many do even die.

Genuine shamans are constantly in training and being given lessons from the spirits or wights around them. If you’re not on the correct path, they will let you know. … And not in subtle or pleasant ways. Unless I’m focused on spiritual growth, channeling knowledge and learning from them, my life goes to hell in a handbag. I’ve lost my home/s multiple times and was homeless. I’ve lost friends, family, and close relationships through both social isolation. I’ve had a number of friends and ex boyfriends die. I’ve gone into financial ruin. Had my health deteriorate. With so many of these things being taken, your “ego” and identity are ripped a part. Everything is taken away so I have nothing left but to focus on my studies. This is what Raven Caldera referred to as being “wight ridden.” (This word came from another culture although I’m not sure which one.)

Footnotes

[1] It’s true that some shamanic tribes use certain plants or substances to attain certain states of consciousness. Usually the people that bang on about having spiritual experiences by using drugs seem to also have an affinity for drugs in general. What you don’t hear many people talk about is the fact that these powerful altered states of consciousness are attainable naturally, without using any drug or plant whatsoever. As I’ve demonstrated in this article.

Candle Magick Color Correspondences

The following are correspondences often used in magick, and especially candle magick. When creating your own spell or you are looking to select a candle for a specific purpose, this is a helpful list to consult. I give uses for each color in both white and black magick. (Although, I don’t personally believe that good and evil, or black and white magick are as clearly defined. It’s hard to have something beneficial without a sacrifice of some sort, and hard to have a negative situation that doesn’t have anything positive about it.)

White

White Magick: Purity, positive energy & peace, enlightenment, protection.

Black Magick: Corruption, impotence

* If you can’t find a specific color candle for your spell, white works as a substitute for all other colors. If you prefer, write the name of the color that was intended onto the on the candle using an athame. You can also use a slip of paper with the color you need written on it and set it underneath the candle.

Black

White Magick: Absorb negative energy, protection, binding. Sacrifice (can be with positive or negative connotations.) Justice & court or legal spells.

Black Magick: Great for offerings. All purpose color for black magick. Used when the only aim is to kill an enemy quickly and surely. It is also used to reverse the power of all other colors. (i.e. red paired with a black candle can be used for hate.)

Red

White Magick: Love, passion, ambition, motivation, desire

Black Magick: The color of blood. This color is chosen when you wish to harm an enemy to a lesser extent than you would use a black candle. Revenge spells, assault. blinding rage. “Used when death of the victim is secondary to his/her suffering or the amoung of pain caused by the curse.” [1]

Orange

White Magick: Success, justice (legal spells), happiness. It is the color of the navel chakra and can be used to help ease depression and fears of abandonment.

Black Magick: Pair with a green candle in order to cause deterioration of health. [1]

Yellow

White Magick: The sun and the color of the solar plexus. The color yellow can be used in spells of personal power, learning and wisdom, intellegence, obliterating mental blocks.

Black Magick: Can be used to rob an enemy of protection and turn guardians and wards against an individual. [1] Dealing with media, lies, rumors, slander and gossip. [2]

Green

White Magick: Money and prosperity, abundance. The heart chakra. Healing. (Especially healing the heart chakra.) Plants and Earth Magick., faeries, luck. Fertility.

Black Magick: Pair with a green candle in order to cause deterioration of health. [1]

Can also be used to induce jealousy of an enemy.

Blue

White Magick: Water. Wisdom. Accessing the collective unconscious that is within Mimir’s well. The waters of birth and death by which we enter and leave this world. Loyalty. (True blue) Jupiter. The throat chakra. Sincerity and obtaining truth.

Black Magick: Along with silver, when blue is matched by the number of black candles, can destroy a victim’s success and prosperity. [1] This can also be used to make someone “blue”, or depressed, sad, etc.

Purple

White Magick: Most often associated with the third eye. Can be used in spells pertaining to psychic abilities, astral travel, intuition, divine messages, royalty, wisdom. Power.

Black Magick: Pair with a green candle in order to cause deterioration of health. [1] Inversely, causes abuse of power, position and ruin social status.

Silver

White Magick: Associated with the moon and the divine feminine. Purification. Many of the same uses as the purple color: psychic abilities. Illuminating what is hidden.

Black Magick: Pair with blue for destruction of wealth and happiness of an enemy. [1]

Gold

White Magick: Prosperity and financial abundance. The sun. Can be used in association with properties of Jupiter. (Luck, abundance, prosperity.) Divine masuline, masculine energy. Lucifer, Odhinn.

Gray

Neutrality. In black Magick can be used to induce grief and mourning.
